Here are some things that I believe are game changers for your wellness journey. Some are my tried and true staples, and others I discovered this year.

Red Light Therapy: I've recently incorporated red light therapy into my routine. This innovative treatment has been shown to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and enhance skin health. When red or near-infrared light shines on your skin, it penetrates deep into your cells, where it’s absorbed by a part of the cell called the mitochondria—often called the “powerhouse” of the cell. The mitochondria produce energy for your body, and this light helps them work more efficiently, kind of like charging a battery.

With this extra energy, your cells can do their jobs better. They repair damage faster, reduce inflammation, and even create more of the building blocks your body needs, like collagen for healthy skin or proteins for muscle recovery.

Low Intensity Cardio: I’ve found that low-intensity cardio works wonders for my overall fitness. It’s gentle on the joints while still helping to improve cardiovascular health and burn fat. Plus, it’s a great way to clear the mind! I don’t track calories burned during a workout, but I do track daily steps. A good way to get steps in the winter is investing in a walking pad. There are tons to choose from! Anything under 7,000 steps a day is considered sedentary.

Eating Protein at Every Meal: Ensuring I include protein in every meal has significantly improved my energy levels and helped with muscle recovery. Protein is essential for maintaining muscle mass and supporting overall health, so I encourage you to give it a try! Aim for at least 100 grams a day. You can also supplement, if you fall short. Strength Training: Of course strength training is going to remain a staple in my wellness arsenal. Incorporating strength training into my routine has been incredibly rewarding. Functional Lab Testing: Lastly, I’ve delved into functional lab testing, which has provided invaluable insights into my health.
